The Ragin' Cajun soccer team is a team that is working towards their peak right now. Head Coach Scot Weiland has reshaped this team ever since he began coaching in 2005. He has changed the recruiting plan to include more and more local players each year as well, keeping Louisiana talent in Louisiana. To read more about Coach Weiland, click here.
The team is, of course, still filled with girls from across the nation, each who have a passion to play soccer in a competitive way. Their passion is evident from the way they practice and play. They encourage one another on and off the field. They also are hard-working students. In the 2010-2011 school year, 18 of the 23 players had maintained a 3.0 GPA throughout the school year. They also had the highest average GPA out of all the teams at UL. And not only are they putting time into being a student-athlete, they're also putting time into charity by spending time with hospitalized children. This blog is dedicated to the soccer team, to help bring more fans to the games and encourage Ragin' Cajuns to support all these women who have dedicated their collegiate years to represent the Ragin' Cajuns.
